Mind Reading Duo bring a ghost to campus

Have you ever seen a ghost? If the answer is no, here is your opportunity to encounter a ghostly spirit from the past. The Evasons Mentalist Mind Reading Duo, which are coming to campus October 25, promise to put on a mind-blowing show that includes mind reading and a séance that will summon a ghost for all eyes to see.

With Halloween right around the corner, the duo promises to put on an extra special show while the fall magic is in the air. The duo enjoys preforming for smaller schools such as AU because it provides a much more intimate atmosphere.

“Our whole show is interactive. We want the audience to feel they are part of the show because that makes them more intrigued. Small audiences can be much better so everyone can be involved,” said Jeff Evason.

The husband-and-wife duo starting preforming in 1983 and have been capturing audiences ever since. The duo has won numerous mentalism awards and have been featured on networks such as NBC, CBS, Comedy Central, and the Discovery Channel.

“If you love what you do, you’ll do well in it,” said Jeff.

Jeff and Tessa both come from entertainment backgrounds, so coming together to do a mentalist show in front of large audiences just came naturally.

“At first talking on stage was a bit nerve racking but now you can’t shut me up unfortunately,” said Tessa. “I thought may times if I could do something else in this world, in this life, or if I had a next life, I can’t imagine being anything other than an entertainer. I certainly didn’t imagine doing what I am doing on stage, but it is beyond what I could have ever imagined.”

The symbol the duo uses for their act is a yin-yang.

“It’s how we see life. I had a vision about it and I think it represents a lot of aspects of our life. We thought that really captured how we see things and live our life,” said Tessa.

Together, Tessa and Jeff form the perfect stage duo. The show will be sure to entertain and amaze.

“We would like to give a shout out to anyone who is thinking about coming to our show to please make it because if they don’t come they will hear about it after the show and wish they had made it,” said Tessa. “Even if we plan everything out, the show has things happen that we didn’t plan, and it heightens the show even more.”
