Revivals Thrift Store helps support those in need

Hidden away on a side street of Ashland’s downtown is a shop called Revival’s Thrift Store located at 345 Orange Street. The store is one of three thrift stores owned and operated by Pump House Ministries.
Revival’s offers gently used items to shoppers for rock bottom prices. Most items cost fewer than 5 dollars. All proceeds from the store go back into the ministry where it is used to help the community.
“We are ministry of the Pump House ministries here in Ashland,” said Rebecca Zickefoose, manager at Revival’s Thrift Store. “We have different ministries in the area and the thrift stores help support those.”
Some ministries that Revival’s helps support are a men’s homeless shelter, community meals, and a food pantry.
Revival’s offers gently used clothes, shoes, home goods, jewelry, books, and toys. The store is bigger than it appears on the outside and is two big rooms filled with items donated by the community. Revival’s recieves donations everyday and will even come to your door to pick up donations.
Most employees are volunteers who contribute their own time to the store.
“We let people volunteer here for many reasons,” said Zickefoose. “Sometimes people who are retired want to come work. We offer community service that is court appointed. We also have a program where people can get needs based items. They can volunteer here to work these items off because we don’t consider ourselves a charity. Anyone who wants to volunteer can come in and interview. I treat all my volunteers like employees because you have to abide by the same parameters.”
Revival’s has two other locations located in Mansfield. Pump House Thrift is located on 42 across from Speedway and Revival’s 1 is located on 4th and Trimble Road.
