On Oct. 18, Vivek Ramaswamy, candidate for Governor of Ohio, made a stop at the Ashland Co. Headquarters in the GDE Building in the downtown Ashland area.
Mayor of Ashland, Matt Miller said, “It certainly looks as though Vivek is going to be the next governor of the great state of Ohio, and we want to make sure that he knows that the people of Ashland are united in helping move this state forward.”
Ramaswamy spoke of how he wants to make basic changes to the way the state is governed by focusing on making new jobs, bringing down property taxes and improving education for the younger generation.
“And what we want in the state of Ohio, we want right here in Ashland is to revive that American dream for our young people. That American dream is real I know it exists,” said Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy plans to make sure that every young person can read by the time they reach third grade. He also wants high school seniors to take the same test that a legal immigrant takes to become a voting citizen.
“True compassion is making sure that every kid has the tools they need to live their version of the American dream…I want those best four-year college degree programs right here in Ohio’s universities,” said Ramaswamy.
The American dream to Ramaswamy is to make sure that the pricing of houses goes down by creating new homes. Also, by bringing the crime rate down so it can be safer in bigger cities.
“It is called the American dream for a reason. The American dream is distinctive. I know it exists because I’ve lived it,” said Ramaswamy.
Ohio’s election is scheduled to take place on Nov. 3, and for more information on Ramaswamy you can visit his website.
