On Oct. 9, the Coburn Art Gallery held Ashland University’s Alumni art and design gallery.
The gallery showcased about 60 different art pieces from 30 different AU Alumni, ranging from the 70’s to recent graduates. Each alumnus was able to submit up to two recent works to the gallery.
Cynthia Petry, interim chair of the department of the arts and design and the director of the Coburn Art Gallery, said “We love to see what our alumni are doing whether they’re graphic designers, illustrators, art educators or just fine artists that like to sit around and paint.”
The first wall when walking into the art gallery showcases art pieces that are from the art collection and pieces that the faculty have of their students.
There was a large range of different art pieces in the collect if various media like oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, mixed media and photography.
“We like to see what they are doing, their achievements from our current students to see what their life is going to be like when they graduate,” said Petry.
The AU Alumni art gallery will be open until Oct. 31, stop and take a look at all the different pieces submitted by them.
