‘The rain can’t stop the fun’— On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Recreation & Wellness team at Ashland University hosted the highly anticipated “Goat Yoga,” attracting nearly 100 students.
This event featured 6 different goats, all brought from Majestic Meadows farm in Medina, Ohio.
This is the fourth year for the event, drawing crowds of students every year.
Janel Molnar, director of the Recreation & Wellness Team on campus, said, “Goat Yoga is such a fun and lighthearted practice. When it started to become very popular nationwide, we wanted to bring it to AU. It’s been super successful and something that students look forward to every year.”
Molnar mentioned this was possible due to the rapid growth of the Wellness Team on campus.
Students also thought this was exciting.
Gabriel Perez-Polanco, a freshman, said, “Mental health is a very important topic to me. I believe this event is a good activity to improve students’ mental health—getting students away from homework and stress for an hour.”
“I totally recommend this event to all students,” Polanco said.
On Oct. 10th, the recreation & wellness team will be hosting a “World Mental Health Day” booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the student center. The booth will feature giveaways, stress balls and resources on mental health improvement.
