The Campus Activities Board (CAB) welcomed students to campus with an Ashland tradition, Grocery Bingo. The event was hosted Friday, August 29 from 9-11 p.m. in Redwood Hall and was the first event of the semester by the organization.
A wide array of groceries lined tables at the front of the hall, which students competed in several rounds of bingo for a chance to win. The rounds varied in what was required of people to win, from traditional bingo to more unique requirements, such as a “T” shape or the four corners on the bingo card. The event proved popular, with hundreds of students filling the tables for a chance to win.
“Grocery Bingo is one of CAB’s most iconic events. We anticipate bringing in hundreds of students to Redwood, which will support socialization and build stronger connections across campus,” said CAB’s co-presidents, Hannah Mantle and Emily Holmes.
Grocery Bingo isn’t the only event CAB will bring to the Ashland campus this semester. Other upcoming events include Ice Skating in Redwood Hall on September 5 from 9-11 p.m. and a Personalization Station, in which attendees can “personalize (their) room with unique crafts and giveaways” according to Engage, Saturday, September 13 from 8-10 p.m. in Redwood Hall. Several more events will follow throughout the semester.
“Our organization strives to provide diverse entertainment that brings students together for friendship and building a vibrant campus community,” said Mantle and Holmes when asked about the importance of CAB to Ashland.
