The Ashland County Fair Board is excited to share its festivities with the public Sept. 14-20. Scheduled events include a wiener dog race, a tractor pull and a women’s skillet throw.
“I enjoy seeing people have a good time,” said Kathy Rice, co-director of the fair.
Alongside other activities, the Ashland County Bomb Squad and COSI will be having demonstrations of their normal day-to-day actions.

Bates Brothers Amusement Co. will be hosting a carnival with games and rides for all ages throughout the week.
On Sept. 14, seven local marching bands will participate in the Parade of Bands: Ashland University and the Ashland, Crestview, Hillsdale, Loudonville, Mapleton and Plymouth high schools.
When speaking about the Parade of Bands, Rice said, “It’s a great community event where people gather together.”
The famed Ashland County tractor pull is taking place at 6:00 P.M. on the 14th.
The annual Walk of Honor begins at the Veterans Building on Sept. 15. Veterans receive free admission to the fair and a free meal from noon to 6 p.m.
Lunilemon and Melt Sandwich, two highly coveted fan favorites, will be returning to the Ashland County Fair. Caramel corn, cotton candy, corn on the cob, foot-long hot dogs and other classics will be served.
