On April 8-9, the Student Senate election was held to determine the student leadership for the 2025-2026 school year.
While several positions were available, the only two with more than one candidate were president and vice presidents. Sophomores Aubrey Stepanik and Emilee Fletcher were elected as president and vice president respectively.
“From the beginning, our campaign has been grounded in being genuine-to advocate for AU students-rooted in the fact that the voices of students truly matter. As we step into office, we’re committed to holding this advocacy true. We’re ready to build a senate that reflects the values, hopes and prosperity of the entire student body,” said Stepanik.
The Stepanik-Fletcher campaign has goals of stronger club and organization collaboration; more access to mental health resources and improved safety on the Ashland campus.
Stepanik has already shown potential as a student leader by advocating for the AU Bucket List poster in the Center for the Arts to be upgraded.
