At the exhibition Saylor VanAuker an art education major, was awarded “Outstanding Senior.”
VanAuker’s favorite artwork she made for the gallery was the titled “Roadside Bouquet” which was an oil painting of her sister.
“I really liked how I added all kinds of different elements into it. There’s different pieces of texture in it, which are actually paint chips from one of the tables that are in the art room. I thought it was interesting to add part of it to my painting is like, me kind of taking a little piece of my college experience with me” said VanAuker.
VanAuker’s excited for the next chapter of her life and hopes to teach middle school kids art.
Make sure to stop by the art exhibition in The Center of the Arts building to see more of the seniors’ artworks.
