On Mar. 11, the Ashland Art Department held its second art gallery of the semester. This art exhibit was called the Student Juried Art and Design Exhibition.
When you walked into the art show, you were given a red sticker for the ability to vote on your favorite art piece.
The art gallery was filled with smiling faces as students proudly showed off their artwork that they spent the last eight weeks working on.
Some students were awarded for their work.
Freshman, Katelyn McClain, was awarded the Alumni, “Wink” award for her wire sculpture called, “MiLady”.
“I just appreciated the way the figure looked in that position. I liked the way her legs looked crossed; she just kind felt really flowy,” McClain said.
McClain was also a part of the group that won best in show. She designed the crows and did some stencil work for “Good Omens”, which was also submitted to the “Crow Festival.”
