Student Senate met on March 11 following a week off for spring break, discussing several important campus related topics.
Following a proposed resolution at the last meeting that called for extended library hours, Chair of Student Affairs Maksym Polianskyi will meet with a staff member from the library to discuss this.
“I’m going to be meeting with Trish Frank from the library to discuss the possibility of extending library hours, how that will work from the library’s side,” said Polianskyi.
Additionally, students wanting to change their room must fill out a form requesting to do so by Friday, according to Ty Bowden, Chair of Residence Life.
Another application due soon is the form requesting funds for an individual organization on campus.
“You will need to fill out the funding for next year. It is to be done by you [current president of organization] …That is due this Sunday, and no later application will be accepted by ABCC,” said Sanjna Arora, Chair of the Activities, Budgeting and Chartering Committee (ABCC).
Packets for the Student Senate election will go out on March 17. Students wanting to join the Senate must start by getting 25 signatures for a non-executive role, or 50 signatures for an executive role, before being able to campaign.
Student Senate meets every Tuesday starting at 9:30 p.m. in the ABCD Conference Room of the Student Center. For more information on Student Senate, visit its Instagram @austudentsenate and for information on other events and organizations on the Ashland campus, visit Engage Ashland.
