Ashland University’s men’s golf team concluded its first spring tournament of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, March 4 tying for eighth place in the 19-team Bearcat Classic at The Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor in Ninety-Six, S.C.
The Eagles finished the two-day, three-round event at 297-296-292—885.
Both junior Carter Mishler and senior Matthew Mcmullen ended in a tie for 20th place – Mishler at 70-75-72—217 who had one eagle, 13 birdies, and McMullen at 74-70-73—217 along with 10 birdies.
Ashland’s team showing was rounded out by freshmen Mark Pillar who tied for 70th, 76-79-74—229, six birdies, Shaun Mazzalupi who tied for 70th, 82-74-73—229, six birdies and Charlie Fish who tied for 78th, 77-77-77—231, six birdies.
Playing as individuals during the tourney were freshman Sam Sutton who tied for 74th, 79-73-78—230, 10 birdies, junior Lukas Schrek who tied for 78th, 77-79-75—231, five birdies, and freshman Michael Fickle who tied for 81st, 78-74-80—232, 12 birdies.
Up next for the Eagles they will play March 24-25 at the Findlay Spring Invite in Richmond, Ky.
