One of AU’s many student-organized clubs, the Bread Club, will be celebrating one year of its existence on Feb. 12, 2025.
What first started out as an idea among the AU Women’s Lacrosse Team, soon became a well-loved group around campus.
The Bread Club was founded by two Ashland University students, Rachel Crumbacher and Catherine Davis, who is now the president, in 2024.
For the past year, the group has met in the USA House on campus.
After a recipe is chosen and the ingredients are provided, students typically work together in small groups to create the baked good.

“We usually bring coloring pages for when stuff is baking, a lot of us will just hangout, talk and eat the food afterwards,” said Davis.
The club has become a retreat for many members.
“I think it’s a relaxing thing to do with my teammates and people outside of lacrosse,” said member, Stella Parrish. She continued, “We’ll be in season now, and there’s a lot of stressful things going on, so being with each other, since we’re teammates, in a calm setting will be really helpful.”
Looking ahead, the group will be celebrating one year on Feb. 12, 2025.
“We’re actually doing celebratory cakes for this month’s meeting,” said Davis.
The Bread Club will also be providing T-shirts for the members who attend.
All are welcome to join in on the fun!
The club’s next meeting is on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, at the USA House on Campus. For any questions, email [email protected] or contact mailto:@AUbreadclub on Instagram.
