Update: The water break has been repaired as of 12:17 p.m. and all affected buildings are restored.
According to an Ashland University Eagle Alert sent to students and faculty, a water break occurred early in the morning on Feb. 4. The break took place on Broad St. and impacted nine of AU’s buildings, leaving them without water services.
The buildings include, The John C. Myers Convocation Center, Amstutz Hall, Andrews Hall, The Niss Athletic Center, The Robert Troop Center, The USA House, The Phi Delta Theta House, The Phi Kappa Psi House, and The Kappa Sigma House.
Residence Life also sent out an email explaining that dining services at convo were impacted earlier in the morning but have now returned to normal with limited drink options.
A planned water outage took place on Feb. 1, shutting down water services from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. City utilities crew repaired water lines which the city of Ashland said were in critical condition. This repair was out of response to the recent water break in Ashland from December 2024.
This is a developing story. The Collegian will provide updates as they become available.
