At Student Senate’s latest meeting on Jan. 28, one of the main points brought up was the Food Carnival, an event featuring several food venders and carnival games.
“The Food Carnival this year will be casino themed, on Feb. 20 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Upper Convo . . . You’ll be able to earn chips or tickets by playing these games and then you can redeem those tickets at the end for some pretty significant prizes. You want to go, you want to play, and you want to stay,” said Dr. Rob Pool, vice president of Student Affairs
Additionally, another pressing issue was brought up by Teresa Overholser, chair of Academic Affairs, who wanted students to know that the deadline for making eight-week classes be graded on a pass or fail scale is this Friday, and to do so as soon as possible.
Along with this, applications for room changes are now open, according to Ty Bowden, chair of Residence Life. Any AU student interested in transferring to a different room for the rest of the semester can now apply through Ashland’s eRezLife service. While students aren’t guaranteed their exact room or building of choice, every application will be processed by Residence Life.
Student Senate meets every Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s ABCD Conference Room. To find out more about Student Senate, you are able to visit its Instagram page @austudentsenate. For more information about events and organizations on campus, visit Engage Ashland.
