AU Volleyball defeats Tiffin in four sets

Ashland volleyball visited Tiffin University on Friday and left with a victory in four sets.

Ashland improved their record to 19-7, while Tiffin dropped to 10-16.

In the first set, Tiffin started off strong, getting the first three sets and getting a 10-6 lead.

AU would respond and win the first set 25-15.

The next set was a back and forth battle in the first half, with the Eagles having a 9-8 lead

to start. Once again, Ashland would find their rhythm and go on a run to win the second set 25-16.

Set number three was another close game, with the set eventually being tied at 19. This time around, it was the Dragons that came out on top 25-22.

The Eagles had complete control of the fourth set, winning it 25-18 and taking the match.

Junior Alli Cudworth was the game leader in kills with 19. Also putting up double-digit

kills for AU were Senior Samantha Zuber and Junior Casey Clark.

Clark also put up 18 digs to lead the team, followed by Junior Mallory Slyder and

Freshman Kaitlin Bean with 15 and 14 respectively.

The Eagles are in a battle with Findlay University to win the GLIAC South. The two

teams have identical records. Both teams are 19-7 overall and 12-3 in the conference.

Ashland’s next match is a road match Saturday at 2 p.m. against Ohio Dominican.
