The annual Ashland Christmas Parade took place on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. Citizens of the town lined Ashland’s Main Street and neighboring roads as the lights and music began.
The different floats were sponsored by different businesses in town, all decorated with various themes.
“A lot of our businesses and organizations put a lot of hours and financial resources in making sure that they have the best decorated float,” said Mayor Matt Miller. “This year it was all The Radio Flyer, vintage wagons full of toys that are dominating tonight.”
Miller said that the event continued with high spirits and excitement as the event occurred. There was a tree lighting ceremony, a firework show, and carolers on stage with the mayor.
“It was a great parade,” said Stan, an Ashland City resident, bundled up with his parade-goer partner, Joyce. “It’s probably the longest one they’ve ever had in Ashland before. Maybe they’re trying to set a record,” he said.
The event ended with excited emotions and Ashland’s Main Street went to sleep under new, warm lights.
