On Saturday, Nov. 9, Ashland University’s Campus Activities Board hosted the last grocery bingo of the semester. This time, it had a little bit of a twist.
It was called, “Wingo Bingo,” in which students were able to play their normal grocery bingo but have the option to eat wings. The wings varied from spicy, mild, and plain, with also the option of having bone in or not.
The options for the prizes for winning bingo stayed much the same. Players had the option to claim sodas, savory and sweet treats, energy drinks, and much more if they got the necessary bingo.
First year student, Daniel Hammer, said the new twist of bingo was fun to see.
“I liked the environment and the passion that some people had during the game,” said Hammer. “The wings were really good.”
Hammer said he won many prizes such as a red bull, a six pack of sprite, and boxes of granola bars.
At the end of the night, CAB finished Wingo Bingo off with their annual “Black Out” round, in which players have the mark off every box on their card. If you got your whole card marked off, then you were able to win bigger prizes.
Those prizes consisted of Lego sets, laundry and cleaning equipment, a giant stuffed octopus, and more.
“The prizes were really good,” Hammer said. “I won a board game during the Black Out round.”
