On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Ashland University’s Jazz Orchestra hosted an event in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center, in the Eagles Nest. This event was called, “Jazz at the Nest.”
The orchestra was directed by Scott Garlock, and they started playing at 7:30 p.m. Once they started to play, the audience was instantly feeling the beat and cheering them on.
A few songs that the orchestra played were; Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder, Consolation by Dave Morgan, and Softly as in a Morning Sunrise by Romberg and Hammerstein
The orchestra consists of four groups: saxophones, trombones, and trumpets. The fourth group is the rhythm group which has drums, guitar, bass, and piano
