Ashland University volleyball took on the Ursuline College Arrows on Thursday, Oct. 10 in Sherrill Hudson Court at Kate’s Gymnasium.
The Eagles entered this match tying Walsh University for the lead in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) East Division.
The Eagles began to set one against the Arrows with a strong lead, going 25-13 against the Arrows.
The Eagles didn’t let up after this opening, as they continued dominating over the Arrows going 25-13, once again, putting them at 2-0.
For the final set the Arrows fought back putting up two more points than previously; however, the Eagles still defeated the Arrows 25-15 creating a 3-0 game with the Eagles winning.
The Eagles are now 4-0 all-time over the Arrows.
The Eagles kills were led by GraceAnn Hartman (11), Sara Krizsa (9), and Samantha Young (7).
The Eagles aces were led by Kylee Urban (4), Young (3), and Hartman (3).
The Eagles blocks were led by Myia Etzler (4), Ravin Morgan (2), and Young (2).
The Eagles assists were led by Urban (29), Macy McNamara (2), and Georgi Moody (1).
Finally, the Eagles digs were led by Abbey Queen (9), Young (8), and McNamara (7).
This was the Eagles’ second-best hitting percentage of the season going out at .376 while the Arrows went .065, the third-lowest hitting percentage allowed by the Eagles during their 2024 season.
The Eagles will next take on the Walsh Cavaliers to determine who will take the number one spot officially in the East Division on Saturday Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
The Eagles currently sit at 11-4 overall and 5-1 in the league while the Arrows are 16-1 and 6-1.
