At the April 9 Student Senate meeting, the new executive council for the next school year was introduced.
Following elections, junior Aidan Nayak and sophomore Kara Crum were voted to be the next President and Vice President respectively.
“I’m most excited for this exec board that we are working with because we have the perfect people tailored for the perfect jobs and they are all so passionate about it,” said Nayak.
This also marked the last meeting for the executive senators serving this last term and it was demonstrated through current president, Zachary Scher handing the senate gavel to Nayak.
“Having a group of people in this room, who care about who they are, what they want to become, what their university is, and what they want their university to become. That’s you guys, every single day,” said Scher.
It’s also being promoted to run for positions as there are still some available in the Senate.
Next Tuesday will be the 2024 to 2025 Student Senates’ first official meeting in their executive positions.
Student senate meetings are hosted in the ABCD conference room in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center every Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.
