The Ashland University Residents Life Department celebrates RA Appreciation on Tuesday night. 

“RAs save lives,” said Director of Residents Life, Kim Lammers. “Students only talk about RAs in a negative way and the good things they do are never talked about because sometimes they can’t be talked about.”

Resident Assistants do more than get students in trouble with the university. They are there for students everyday to assist in any problem them way have, whether it is serious or minor.

“Ashland University’s Res Life is worthy to be bragged on,” said Clark’s Assistant Resident Director Kouri Weber. “It is of noble quality and has taught me so much.”

In celebration of RA Appreciation Day, the Residents Life Department conducted an inservice ceremony for all RAs and has asked students to send their RAs messages letting them know how much they appreciate them.

KEM 1 & 2: Anna Mion – Anna has been such a wonderful RA and ARD this year!  I have really enjoyed getting to know her better and working with her in such a close capacity.  Thanks for all your hard work and effort, and thanks for being such a great role model!

KEM 3: Kelsey Haddix – Kelsey has done a wonderful job as an RA this year, and she has truly grown as a leader on campus and in the residence halls.  She always does a great job following up with her residents and creating strong bonds on the floor.  Keep it up, Kels!

KEM 4: Hannah Hartley – Bet you can’t guess who this is. Super thankful for all that you do! You’re a beautiful person inside and out. So many people look up to you including me. Hope you have a great day, RA!

KEM 5: Kylie Bernthisel – Kylie’s joy is contagious!

KEM 6: Kailah Sanders – Welcome to the floor, you are doing a great job and I can’t wait to get to know you throughout this semester!

KEM 7: Mikaela Bush – I have a lot of fun eating convo with you and hanging out at my house and the cheese barn 🙂

AMZ 2: Kali Bolen – You are so positive and friendly to everyone. I am glad you are my RA

AMZ 3: Nuri Lee – Nuri you are AWESOME! I love working with you and love hearing about all of the amazing things you do. Continue to be a strong leader on campus and working hard in everything you do.  You’re the best!

AMZ 4: Logan Baker – You are a wonderful person, RA, and actress.  I am so thankful I get to work with you.  You are very positive and I admire your work ethic.  Thank you for making my year amazing!

AMZ 5: Carlie Freeman – Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

AMZ 6: Logan Rex – You are the greatest! I just wanted to say thanks for doing you and keeping an awesome floor.

AMZ 7: Jackson Yenor – Jackson makes me smile whenever I see him! He’s so intelligent and kind!

AMZ 8: Jacob Moss – 1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

CLAYTON 3: Derek Stallard – Derek! You have truly made Clayton 4th floor feel at home. Thank you for always being just a call away!! You da bomb .com!

CLAYTON 4: Andrea Ruiz – Andrea is fun to be around! She’s so kind!

CLAYTON 5: Leah Paxton – Thank you for being so approachable. We are all very appreciative to have an RA who follows the rules, but is not bossy and overbearing. Thank you for all you do for us on the 5th floor!

CLAYTON 6: Kelsey Yantz – Kelsey is always really friendly and always takes time to talk to you!

CLAYTON 7: Olivia Hess – Thank you for all the things you’ve done for us over this past semester. We really appreciate all of your support and advice.

CLAYTON 8: Maggie Laginya – Thank you for being such a dope RA and being an even better neighbor! Couldn’t have ask for a better RA

CLAYTON 9: Christian Tomasik – Christian is basically an ideal RA because he always puts his residents first

CLK 1: Kristin Allman – She’s always smiling! And it makes me wanna smile even on the stressful days! So don’t stop smiling

CLK 2: Susan Silvernail – Thanks for all the festive things you have done through the holidays!

CLK 3: Kouri Weber – Thank you for being so considerate of others and always sweet like sugar to everyone.

CLK 4: Emily Kaiser – You’re so nice and are such a wonderful RA! Thank you for all that you do!

CLK 5: Mellie Derry – Mellie, she is one of the best RAs that I have had during my time here at AU. She is understanding and is always willing to listen when there is a problem or if you just need someone to talk to. To me she doing a fabulous job as a first year RA and although I have never had a terrible RA, I will say she is probably one of my favorites.

JCB 1 & 2: Cameron Ressel – Thanks for being one of the best RA’s I have ever had during my time here at AU!!  You rock!

JCB 3: Max Ostrowski – Max has a wonderful way of relating with the men and women on his floor.  His quiet demeanor really helps people to feel comfortable talking with him and opening up to him.  Max is never afraid to get help or input from others, which helps him to grow as a leader and role model on campus.  Thanks for all you do, Max!

JCB 4: Ali Green – You are good at golf and an awesome RA!

MYR 1: Taylor Randles – Taylor puts 1000% into everything she does.  She works hard, completely dedicates herself to her residents, and does a phenomenal job supporting the ones around her.  I cannot wait to see Taylor continue to grow and lead in residence life, and I know she will keep doing great things.  Thanks for your hard work!

MYR 2: Chase Shrum – Chase makes the man bun cool! That’s a skill!!

MYR 3: Natasha Kirkbride – Thank you for all that you do for us, we all think you’re the best RA ever! Goodluck through your field you will be so successful in the future. (:

KIL 1: Grady Millick – You rock man! You’re there when we need you, and you bought us a bunch of tacos!

KIL 2: Josh Robinson – Josh is so caring and so funny. He makes life more enjoyable!

KIL 3: Tyler Henry – Oh Tyler! You are so fun to be around, and are so caring!

KIL 4: Nathanial Urbam – Love you skip! You’re the best RA and the friend, us freshman could ask for!

KIL 5: Rupesh Maharjan – Papa Pesh knows everyone in Kil. That’s pretty cool!

CASA: Nick Slinger – I am very thankful I have had the opportunity to work with you this year. You do amazing things as an RA and for the AU community.  Thank you for being a positive leader on the staff and for always working for hard and being willing to help!

AND 2: Emily Didion – You are a great RA! You are always smiling and it brightens my day!

AND 3: Owen Heckman – I really enjoy hanging out with you. Everyone on the floor has mega respect for you not because you are overly strict, but because you are everyone’s friend.

NURSING: Britney Kandel – You are so kind and thoughtful. I really appreciate you and all you do for the students at the College of Nursing 🙂

NURSING: Ashley Gies – Thanks Ashley for all that you do to make us laugh!

NURSING: Elizabeth Polasky – You put so much work into everything you do and it is really noticed around our apartments. You always have a smile on your face and you truly care for all of your residents!
