The Coburn Art Gallery is opening its doors to the public on Jan. 18 for the Art & Design Department Faculty Exhibition.
The gallery is showing 41 total works by faculty, former faculty, and adjuncts at Ashland University. Viewers can expect to see artworks from prints to sculptures.
“[Art] is a form of communication in culture,” said Cynthia Petry, assistant professor of Art and Director of the Coburn Art Gallery. “Our culture is immersed in the arts”.
The Coburn Art Gallery’s opening reception is on Jan. 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The gallery will run until Feb. 18. The hours for the gallery are weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The art faculty and adjuncts were unavailable to comment on the upcoming gallery.
Petry finished by stating the art gallery is the only one in town and it shows students the art professors also “talk the talk”.
