As of Monday, Sept. 11, nominations are now open for the Academic Mentor Awards.
The requirements to nominate a mentor are to be a senior who has 90 or more credit hours, or a graduate student who has completed 75% of their program.
Faculty, staff, and academic administrators are eligible to be nominated.
A nomination letter must be submitted by Oct. 10 at the link: Academic Mentor Nomination
Students who nominate a letter must submit a one-page essay that highlights the following:
- How did your mentor relationship develop
- How have you benefitted academically from this relationship
- How has your personal development been enhanced by this relationship
- What specific impact has your mentor had on your progress at the University
The selection will be made by the judges on the Academic Affairs Committee of the Ashland University Board of Trustees and will be selected based on a blind review of nominees and candidates.
There is a maximum of eight recipients for the award, and no more than two winners may be adjunct faculty.
The award ceremony for the recipients and their nominators will be held on Jan. 26, 2024, at the time of the AU Board of Trustees meeting.
If students have any questions about the nomination process, they are encouraged to contact Kristen Lanzone at [email protected].
