Construction is underway on the new library cafe with a fence put around the back library patio.

Construction has begun on the new Archer Library cafe, which will be opened by at least the end of 2023, according to AU President Dr. Carlos Campo.

The cafe is to be built where the patio is in the library and enclosed.

Campo also mentioned that the cafe will have a contemporary design with “a black and white modern theme.”

“It’s going to be the most upscale and attractive, permanent dining facility for our student body, and it will be student body focused,” said Campo.

The menu is still being worked for the cafe, and there have been coffee tastings recently to what students have liked.

The goal of the new library cafe is to drive student traffic back to the library since it is the central part of campus.

Besides the library cafe, the library’s first floor will also feature virtual reality facilities to attract students to the library.
