Friday night’s game for the Ashland Eagles women’s soccer (5-0-3, 2-0-1 GLIAC) against Ferris State (2-5-2, 0-1-2) resulted in a 0-0 tie between the two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Barker earned a clean sheet with nine saves.  Barker’s efforts to date leaves her with a goal save average of .900 which ties her for first in the GLIAC.

The scoreless tie between the two teams was not from a lack of shooting as AU provided 17 shots with eight of them being on target in comparison to Ferris State’s 20 shots in which nine challenged the Eagles.

Sophomore forward Deijah Swihart lead the team in shots with five attempts in which two of them challenged the Ferris State keeper.

The ladies continue their road trip as they take on fellow GLIAC opponent and defending NCAA Division II national champions Grand Valley State on Oct. 2.
