Eagles take two out of three on the road

The Ashland University women’s volleyball team moves to 10-6 in the season and 4-3 in the GLIAC after playing three back to back conference games this past week.
On Tuesday, the Eagles faced Tiffin winning 3-2 after a fifth deciding set.
The Eagles won the first two sets (29-27, 25-20) before Tiffin claimed the second two.
In the deciding set, the Eagles started off leading Tiffin 5-1. The Eagles then took their lead to 11-5 before winning the set 15-11.
Senior Alli Cudworth had 19 kills, which puts her 27 away from becoming the fourth player to reach 1,500 kills in a career.
Sophomore Kayla Pfeiffer also had 54 assists, which is a career high.
On Friday the Eagles looked to face another conference rival, Lake Superior State, and took their fourth consecutive victory.
The Eagles beat the Lakers in a 25-19, 25-10, 25-13 victory.
The Eagles recorded their highest hitting percentage of the whole season against the Lakers at .337 percent.
Alli Cudworth had 11 kills while teammate Casey Clark had eight digs.
Saturday brought a 3-2 loss to the Eagles against Saginaw Valley State (25-16, 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-10).
The Eagles and the Cardinals went back and forth claiming wins in the first three sets with the Cardinals taking the fourth set after being tied at 18.
In the fifth and final set, the Cardinals took a 4-1 lead before taking the set 15-10.
Outside hitter, Alli Cudworth had 23 kills making her the fourth women in Ashland history to make it past the 1,500 kill mark.
Freshman Shelby Woycik and sophomore Reanne Neal both had 13 kills. Kayla Pfeiffer also added a career high of 56 assists.
The Eagles are back in action starting Oct. 7 for two back to back conference games against Ferris State and Grand Valley State.
