What to expect from AU dining
What to expect from AU dining
Ashland University prides itself on the dining experience and services it provides to its students.
AU does this through meal plan options available to its students, including the mandatory “Purple Plan” for the incoming first years, which boasts unlimited meal swipes in the John C. Meyers Convocation center located near the first-year dorms.
Other meal plans include the commuter favorite Tuffy plan which offers 80 meal swipes that can be spent at any dining location on campus and the “Eagle Plan” which provides 240 meal swipes usable in any on-campus dining locations.
The Convocation center is the main source of dining on campus and offers a wide variety of self-serve and prepared meals for students presented in a buffet style.
Popular items amongst the students include a full salad bar, a gluten-free area, daily specials, as well as the ever-popular “Late Night” starting at 10 p.m. and offering a wide variety of options such as burgers, hot bar items, chicken nuggets, and much more.
While the Convocation Center is the most popular dining option, there are others on campus such as the Eagle’s Nest located in the student center and boasting an assortment of meals made to order through the Grubhub app or placed in person.
“The Nest” as students call it, is the most varied in the scope of the on-campus dining locations with meals such as subs, wings with your choice of sauces and sizes, personal pizzas, and a favorite from previous years making a comeback grilled chicken options for burgers, quesadillas, fry baskets and more.
Overall many say the dining experience at Ashland University is exemplary with its wide array of options for nearly everyone it will be hard to find something a student does not like or cannot eat all while being affordable and varied in meal plan options to meet the needs of each student.
