November 3, 2020
The Coburn Art Gallery has been home to a variety of various art exhibitions and on Oct. 15, it began its newest exhibition.
The new exhibition is a “a two person exhibition which will feature artworks created by Texas artists Dan Jian and Kalee Appleton.” Gallery director Cynthia Perry wrote on the Coburn Gallery blog.
The exhibition has a total of twelve different works of art in total by the two artists. Both artists’ work focuses on landscapes in different ways and art styles that people can view as long as the exhibition runs.
The exhibition will run from Oct. 15 to Nov. 24 in the Center for the Arts on the first floor. The exhibition will be open from 10a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday and from 12:00p.m. to 4p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Face masks are required to enter the exhibition and social distancing must also be maintained. Also, there is a capacity of 15 people or 5 groups. While in the exhibition people may view the oil paintings by Dan Jain and the jet prints by Kalee Appleton.
Along with the art, people will find a page of information for each artist. The papers have a statement from the artist along with their bio. These allow exhibition visitors to learn more about the artists and their work. People can learn about what motivated the artists and some of their inspirations as well as their history.
“The art looks wonderful,” Ashland University student Mady Wright said. “Both artists’ work look very nice, I’m glad I went to see them.” The Coburn Art Gallery welcomes anyone who wishes to see the artwork showcased in the exhibition to come in and view the art.
