Schedule changes week of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving break is right around the corner for Ashland University students, and this is the first year the university will have a change in scheduling for the holiday season.

This year, students will have their Monday classes operate as normal, although Tuesday is a different story. On Tuesday, instead of going to one’s regular classes for the day, students will attend their Friday classes instead.

Wait-what!? Yes, you heard correctly.

According to enrollment clerk, Jennifer Potosky, at the Office of Records and Registration in Founder’s Hall, she acknowledged the reason behind this schedule change.

“Most of the holidays this year are falling on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday,” Potosky said. “In order to make up for those missed days, we are doing the Friday for Tuesday.”

Potosky also noted depending on how future vacations for students pan out on the academic calendar, this may not be the last time the university changes students’ schedules.

“This is a one time thing right now; the calendar is evaluated every year and so this may or may not happen again,” Potosky said.

For the week, students do not have classes on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. The normal schedule will resume the following Monday, on Nov. 28.
