Ashland Universities’ volleyball team has run the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this season.

Coming off a 3-0 sweep of non-conference Salem University, the Eagles finished their short homestand against a GMAC rival in the Walsh Cavaliers.

The contest against the Cavaliers saw the Eagles win the first set 25-21 after being down 13-10.

In the second set, the Cavaliers stormed back into the contest with a 25-20 win to tie the series at 1-1. At one point in the second set, the Cavaliers were down 20-15 and scored 10 points straight.

The Eagles continued consistent play in the third set and won 25-21, and in the fourth and final set, the Eagles blew out the Cavaliers 25-14 to secure their 10th win in a row.

Junior libero Katie Thompson dominated coming off of her GMAC Player of the Week honors recording a team-high 23 digs in the contest.

Another GMAC Player of the Week, Makenna Belcher, recorded 14 digs behind Thompson.

The Eagles will take to the road in their next GMAC matchup, taking on the Northwood Timberwolves on Oct. 1, starting at 1 p.m.
