The Ashland University women’s soccer team keeps itself in contention to host the Great Midwest Athletic Conference post-season tournament.

The Eagles saw forward Bailey Clark find the back of the net to secure the only goal of the contest.

In the first half of play, the Eagles went toe to toe with the Ursuline Arrows putting up five shots a piece with two being on goal.

Heading into halftime the Eagles dove deep into their bench trying to find a spark to light the fire, but were unable to do so through multiple small windows of opportunity.

However, in the second half, the Eagles ramped up their intensity to take home a 1-0 win.

In the 64th minute, a corner kick found the side of Clark’s head to send the Eagles home with the victory. When the ball was crossed in Clark took it off the side of her head and had no clue it was a goal until her teammates rushed on top of her.

With 26 minutes remaining the Eagles held strong to improve their record to 10-1-1 in conference play and 12-3-1 overall.

Goalkeeper Bri Rogers recorded five saves to give herself her eighth clean sheet of the season.

They look to take on the Findlay Oilers on the road Saturday, Oct. 22 with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
